Military History Museum of the Pacific Fleet
Detailed description
The Military History Museum of the Pacific Fleet is located in an old building. It was built in 1903 for naval officers. It is a two-story rectangular stone structure. In construction, the architect adhered to such architectural style as classicism. Not so long ago, the building was awarded the status of an architectural monument. The main entrance is located in a high small ledge in the form of a rectangular opening. Above it, on the second floor, there is an openwork small balcony. The facade of the building is decorated with a horizontal belt, openwork pilasters, and patterned protruding cornices.
The museum itself was opened here only in 1946. Now there are about 40 thousand exhibits there: banners, weapons, awards, personal belongings of heroic sailors, paintings by famous painters, and more.
