Homestead of the Khomyakovs
Detailed description
The estate was built in 1849 by order of the noble Moscow Khomyakov family, whose members held high government positions in the Russian Empire. The building was designed in the classical style by the famous architect Osip Ivanovich Bove, who also worked on the Kremlin and Kitay-Gorod. At the end of the 20th century, the Khomyakov estate was converted for commercial use. After the restoration, the rehearsal halls of the Bolshoi Theater are located in the house.
