The house where I.P. Pavlov lived in 1881 and 1887
Detailed description
The mansion was built in the third quarter of the 19th century. It was owned by Evstigney Nikiforovich Khmelnitsky, who later became the mayor. His sister became the wife of Ivan Petrovich Pavlov. The one-story brick house has a rectangular shape in the plan. The roof has four beams, there is an attic. The window openings on the facade are richly decorated. The central part has five identical windows framed by profiled architraves and decorated with arched friezes. The side windows are decorated with rusticated glass. The building is built in the style of a monastery, with rooms on both sides. In 1949, in honor of the centenary of the birth of I. P. Pavlov, a memorial plaque was erected in front of the building with the text "The great Russian physiologist I. P. Pavlov, a patriot of the fatherland, the creator of modern material physiology, lived in this house in 1881 and 1887." Now there is a children's store in the house.
