Shvalnaya Tower
Detailed description
In the 1680s, a square steel tower was built. It is part of the architectural ensemble of the Novodevichy Monastery, which was created by architect Peter Potapov. According to a document from the second half of the 18th century, he is the author of this ensemble and a large number of structures. The tower was named after the nearby "shvalne", a tailor's workshop.
