Detailed description

The palace was built in the period from 1783 to 1789 for G.A. Potemkin. In 1792, it housed the imperial residence, and from 1906 to 1917, the State Duma of the Russian Empire. It is now the headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly, the Center for the History of Parliamentarism and the branch of the Mir Television and Radio Company. The palace is a building in the spirit of classicism with two floors, completed with a shallow dome on a small drum. A portico of six columns is decorated in the center of the main building. The facade is crowned by an overlap with a frieze of triglyphs and is decorated with tall windows. One-story galleries lead to the side two-story buildings. In 1783-1800, a garden was grown in the courtyard by master V. Gould. The interior of the palace is richly decorated with stucco. .
