A.V. Buryshkin's mansion
Detailed description
The Glebova—Buryshkin Mansion is one of the most famous buildings in the historical center of Moscow. It is a monument of architectural heritage, built in the early 20th century by the famous architect Fyodor Shestakov for the wealthy industrialist and philanthropist AV Buryshkin. The building, built in Moscow, is an excellent example of the Empire style. The facade of the house is laconic and includes an attic with a semicircular window supported by six semi-columns of the Corinthian order, as well as a balcony on the second floor decorated with an exquisite wrought-iron lattice (the brackets were restored during the restoration in the 1960s). The lower floor is rusticated, and there are stucco bas-reliefs on the facade. A special feature of the building is the unusual placement of the main entrance in the center of the main facade. The original facade has been preserved with minor changes, and the layout has been preserved. The interior of the building is also remarkable. On the main staircase, you can see paintings with Egyptian motifs, as well as Masonic symbols and unusual images of human figures in strange poses. The wing in the courtyard was rebuilt at a later date. The fence along the lane has continued to exist since the beginning of the 20th century.
