The Byzantine Museum in Athens was founded in 1914 and has more than 25,000 exhibits. The museum is located on Vasilisis Sofias Avenue, near Evangelismos metro station. The museum building was built in 1848 and expanded in 1993. The museum's exposition includes a late Roman statuette of the Good Shepherd, marble slabs, Byzantine ceramics and other exhibits.
