Mount Lycabettus
Detailed description
Mount Lycavittos is a Cretaceous limestone in Athens, Greece. The peak is located at an altitude of 277 meters, the highest point in the center of Athens. At the top there is a chapel of St. George, a theater and a restaurant. The mountain is mentioned in mythical and legendary stories related to wolves and Athena. An indoor amphitheater at the top, where concerts and performances of artists took place. The Lycabetus Theatre is scheduled to reopen in 2022.
