Detailed description

In 1862, the Orphanage was founded. In 1863, a four-storey building was built. Construction began in 1869. The building was designed by architect G.I. Karpov. The initiator of the House of Advent project is Metropolitan John Nikolsky of Novgorod and St. Petersburg, as well as Metropolitan John Nikolsky of Novgorod and St. Petersburg. The building, built in August 1872, was built in accordance with the project of the diocese on a private donation. Stone roads led to the courtyard on both sides of the huge four-story house, and a stone chapel was built to the left of the house, with a caretaker's room attached to it. The basement of the house had living quarters for guests, a kitchen, a bakery, kvass, and a pantry. On the ground floor there was a dining room, an infirmary, on the second floor there were 19 rooms with two small rooms and an entrance hall.  There were 26 rooms on the second floor. On the third floor, there were rooms for several people, like in a dormitory.
