Estate of E.I. Bogoyavlenskaya, wing
Detailed description
Bogoyavlenskaya Manor is a historical monument that was built in 1877. The architect of this complex was Ivan Kuzmich Kostryukov, who designed three buildings: the main house, the wing and the stone gates. This estate is a typical example of a wooden town house in Nizhny Novgorod in the 1870s. The sawn carvings on the facades of the buildings reflect the craftsmanship of the era in which the estate was built. In addition to its architectural value, Bogoyavlenskaya Manor played an important role in the development of education in Nizhny Novgorod province. From 1894 to 1910, the manor housed the city's first free library and reading room. This library has played an important role in the development of literacy and education in the city and has helped many people gain access to books and other educational materials.
