The building was organized as a hotel, equipped with Dutch ovens, high-quality furniture made of Karelian birch and wide windows made of Bohemian glass. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the building belonged to the city council, after which the city educational institution took its place. When the revolution ended, communal apartments were built in the house. Nowadays, the building is in the possession of the Volga Customs Administration and has administrative functions.
