Shuvalov 's Mansion
Detailed description
In the middle of the eighteenth century, the mansion belonged to the philanthropist Ivan Shuvalov. On the site of the palace was the estate of Peter the Great's niece Praskovya Ivanovna. Instead of a new building, the old one was simply rebuilt and Shuvalov became the owner of the new estate. The architect of perestroika was the famous Savva Chevakinsky at that time. In 1755, the estate was completely rebuilt.
