The component part of the monastery wall of the Donskoy Monastery was built in the 17th century, observing all the traditions of defensive architecture. The tower consists of three tiers. The first one has a single doorway without windows with upper and lower rows of loopholes. The upper ones were used for shooting. The next tier, which does not connect to the first, is located at the level of the military passage of the monastery fence, an internal staircase leads to it from the ground. The third is a kind of veranda, an observation deck surrounded by arches, which can be reached using an internal staircase from the level of the fighting passage. The parapets of the arched openings are blind, decorated with balusters of white stone.
