Uralvo Headquarters Complex. Residential building
Detailed description
The headquarters of a military district is a building (of regional importance), which is a complex of buildings forming independent blocks squeezed by streets. In the late 1930s, by order of the Ural Military District, a complex of buildings for the command staff was built in the center of the city, adjacent to the city of Chekists.
The composition of the complex reflects the development of a new quarter structure in Soviet architecture of the 1930s-multifunctionality with the active use of ensembles and interior spaces.
The complex consists of a headquarters building, a canteen, a sports club and two residential buildings. All of them are interconnected both compositionally and functionally. The large headquarters building is the central one. The complex is an example of multifunctional urban planning in the spirit of "Soviet neoclassicism".
