N.P. Ferzen's apartment house
Detailed description
The apartment building of N. P. Ferzen is located in St. Petersburg, on the embankment of the Moika River. The house was built in 1915 by order of Count Nikolai Pavlovich Ferzen, who was part of the entourage of Emperor Nicholas II. The house was built according to the project of the Russian architect P. M. Makarov, in the neoclassical style. The facade of the house overlooks the Moika River embankment and is decorated with semi-columns. There are balconies on each floor. At the end of the 20th century, the first mayor of St. Petersburg, A. A. Sobchak, lived in this house, in whose memory a memorial plaque is fixed on the house. One of the apartments in the house belongs to Mikhail Boyarsky. The Winter Palace of Peter the Great, the Palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich, the Alexander Column and the Novo-Mikhailovsky Palace are located not far from the Fersen Apartment Building.
