The mansion of Count A.A. Arakcheev

Three-storey mansion AA .Arakcheeva was built in 1797 by architect F.I.Demertsov. The influential count later became the architect's patron. During Alexander I's travels in Russia, the management of the empire was actually entrusted to the owner of this mansion. In 1800, Arakcheev sold the mansion to merchant Alexander Zhukov, and in 1835 it was bought by the wife of Captain Bogdanovich of the second rank. Then she began to rent the mansion to officers of the second battalion of the Preobrazhensky Regiment of the Royal Guard; 20 years later, the mansion was acquired by the command of the Preobrazhensky Regiment. The original views of the mansion and the decoration of the rooms have not been preserved to this day, only the main staircase has remained in its original form since the beginning of the 19th century.
