Nizhny Novgorod branch of the State Bank
Detailed description
This building was built in 1911-1913 in the neo-Russian style. It is a monument to the 300th anniversary of the reign of the House of Romanov. The main facade of the building is lined with white Ural stone. The coat of arms of the Russian Empire is engraved in stone in the center of the facade. The main entrance to the bank has a covered porch topped with an enamel tent. The two double doors are lined with green copper embossing, which depicts two eagles. The ceiling of the first floor is decorated with the coats of arms of the cities that have been trading partners of Nizhny Novgorod since the beginning of the Makaryevskaya Fair, and allegorical images of the four elements.
Once there were halls for loans and savings banks. Currently, the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation is located here.
