Ushakova 's dacha
Detailed description
The building was built in 1903 by the merchant Ushakov to rent rooms to vacationers in Kislovodsk. His wife was responsible for arranging the guests, and therefore the mansion was called "Mrs. Ushakova's boarding house."
Aristocrats and creative people rested here. In 1917, the house was chosen to house Fyodor Chaliapin's family for the entire summer. So the name "Chaliapin's Cottage" was fixed for the house. During the revolution in 1918, the building was nationalized and public canteens, warehouses and communal apartments were located here.
In 1927, the mansion was stripped of its national title and gradually it fell into disrepair, they wanted to demolish it. But then in 1988 the building was renovated. A historical and cultural center has been created on the basis of the mansion. The exhibition tells about the life and work of F. I. Chaliapin, life in Kislovodsk.
