Detailed description

Alexander Isaevich Solzhenitsyn was born in Kislovodsk in 1918. His father died hunting without seeing the birth of his son. After that, his mother Taisya Zakharovna moved to Kislovodsk to live with relatives. However, the house in which the future writer was born was deliberately destroyed in Soviet times. In 1920, Taisya Zakharovna and her son moved in with her sister M.Z. Gorina, where Solzhenitsyn lived for the first 4 years of his life. After the revolution, the house was nationalized. There was a warehouse, then a canteen, and by the early 90s the house was empty and in disrepair. Since the house remained the only place in Kislovodsk associated with the writer's name, it was decided to restore it. In fact, only the walls of the first floor remained of it, the second floor and the wooden elements were completely changed. Now there is a museum in the house, the expositions of which are related to the biography of the writer. Entrance to the museum is paid.
