Blue Cottage
Detailed description
The house is located on the banks of the Krestovka River. It was built in 1913 and is a two-storey building with a round dome above it. The facade is decorated with stucco, a portico with four columns and a triangular pediment. The house was built as a summer cottage for the wife of State Councilor Vurgaft and got its name "Blue Cottage" because of the blue color of the walls. In the pre-revolutionary years, St. Petersburg banker Dmitry Lvovich Rubinstein held charity New Year's holidays for children here. Later, the building was occupied by a children's colony, the Leningrad City Executive Committee. Currently, the Blue Cottage is a state residence.
