The estate of N.P. Sheremetev
Detailed description
In 1800, Razumovsky sold the mansion along with the entire estate to his brother-in-law Nikolai Petrovich Sheremetev. The house was always full of guests, invited and uninvited, rich and poor. He lived here before the revolution. And in 1918, he personally handed it over to the Soviet authorities. The unique mansion was divided into communal housing for peasants who had flocked to Moscow from hunger, warehouses and small offices for minor employees. The fire of 1812 led to the loss of some details, but after the restoration the house retained its features in the Empire style. The building has three floors, it has an L-shape with an obtuse angle.
