Detailed description
The house is located opposite Arbatskaya metro station. It was built in 1886 and is a two-storey stone building in the neoclassical style. The main facade is decorated with figures of griffins and lilies. The large windows are decorated with columns. The territory of the estate is fenced with a cast-iron fence with a front entrance gate. The house belonged to the famous entrepreneur and owner of the Tver manufactory Varvara Alekseevna Morozova. At one time, the main house of the city estate was one of the most popular intellectual places in Moscow. It was visited by the great Russian writers A.P.Chekhov, L.N. Tolstoy, A. Blok, and artists S.Surikov, V. Serov, and A. Vasnetsov.
