Detailed description

The construction of the tower began in 1490 on the site of the ancient Kremlin, it was during this period that the ensemble began to acquire a grand scale and its majestic severity. Passing through the gate of the tower, you can get to Borovitskaya Square or exit to the Alexander Garden. The name of the building is surrounded by various legends, but there are two main ones: according to one legend, the name of the tower came from an ancient forest that covered the hill on which the building was erected. According to the second legend, in honor of the builders of the white-stone Kremlin, who were residents of Borovsk. The tower is crowned by a ruby star, with a height of 54 meters.
