Armory Chamber
Detailed description
The armory was built in 1851. The armory was originally built to store the tsar's cannon. Cold steel and firearms were also manufactured on the territory of the chamber. Armor for defense and armament of the state army were produced here. In 1806, by decree of Alexander the Great, the Imperial museum was opened here. The building itself has a design in the Russian-Byzantine style and was part of the Kremlin Palace complex. The walls of the building were decorated with marble medallions depicting Russian princes and tsars.
