The building of the higher women's Bestuzhev courses
Detailed description
In 1902-1903, a three-story building of the higher women's Bestuzhev courses was erected, containing classrooms and a dining room, and in 1909 an observatory tower was built over the passage. This complex of educational buildings, combining late eclecticism and modernism, was one of the best in the city. In 1918, the higher women's courses were transformed into the 3rd Petrograd University, which in 1919 was incorporated into the Petrograd State University. There is a commemorative plaque on the facade of the building.
