Senate and Synod

The Senate and the Synod are located on Galernaya Street in St. Petersburg. These are two buildings built in the classical style on the site of the Nevsky Monastery in the early 19th century. The Senate and the Synod were the highest state bodies of the Russian Empire, located in the same building. The buildings are now used as a museum and exhibition center. They are a significant attraction of the city and attract many tourists.
