The mansion of the provincial leader of the nobility A.N. Naumov
Detailed description
The building, designed by the famous architect Alexander Shcherbachev, was erected in 1905. It was built for Alexander Naumov, the leader of the Samara region aristocracy. The mansion was originally conceived as a residence for the elite. It was equipped with a wine cellar, servants' quarters, a winter garden, and even a private power plant, since there was no city electricity in Samara at that time. A wrought-iron eagle for the flag can still be seen on the facade. Some elements of the facade, such as the coat of arms of the Naumov family, flower pots on the roof and a fountain in the courtyard of the mansion, have not been preserved. The building was built of an unusual material - local limestone, mined in the Zhiguli Mountains, and it was believed that the local stone was not suitable for the construction of such a huge building. However, Naumov, a patriot of Samara, insisted that the house be built of this stone.
