The house of the German Embassy
Detailed description
The construction of the building was completed at the beginning of the twentieth century. The building was decorated with massive columns and covered with dark red Swedish granite, which gives the building, according to researcher V.A. Chernenko, "German brutality and Nordic heaviness."
At the beginning of its existence, the Embassy had the following layout: the ground floor was reserved for office and technical premises, the second floor was occupied by large living rooms, auditoriums and apartments of the ambassador, the third floor was reserved for staff apartments. The interiors were decorated only with original works of German art, all these art objects were made according to drawings by P. Behrens at the enterprises of the German Empire.
