The house of Mikhail Ippolitovich Wawelberg is located in the center of St. Petersburg at the intersection of Nevsky Prospekt and Malaya Morskaya Street, it was built in 1911-1912. M.I. Wawelberg himself was one of the richest people in the city, had his own bank, which he founded in 1848.
The granite palace is called the "Money Palazzo" by locals, as the design resembles buildings in the neo-Renaissance style of Renaissance Italy. Also, the building was nicknamed the gloomy symbol of Nevsky Prospekt. The restaurant of the Englishman T. Roby was located on the ground floor of the building. The architectural building is included in the Unified State Register of Cultural Heritage Sites (Historical and Cultural Monuments) Of Russia.
