Detailed description
The architectural structure was erected in 1913 by the famous Soviet, Moscow architect Vasily Nikanorovich Volokitin. The master recreated the building in the northern, or Scandinavian, Art Nouveau style, with elements of Gothic. This style is distinguished from others by the massive forms of architecture with the addition of natural textures and textures. Anna Shugaeva's house was built in the shape of the letter "G". The building has earned the title of an example of an apartment building of the early 20th century. The facades are decorated with stucco figures of women, warriors in armor and majestic winged lions. On the seventh floor there is a statue of a knight in armor leaning on a sword. To this day, the interior decorations have been preserved in the main lobbies. Nowadays, people still live there. Now, the former apartment building is recognized as an architectural monument and is protected by state services.
