Women's Gymnasium
Detailed description
On the site of the former Orthodox Church of St. Elijah, demolished in 1840, the main building was erected in 1861. The serf Semyon Ivanovich Konarulin, who was invited from the Vladimir province on behalf of Prince Urusov, was engaged in its construction. For the construction of the building, bricks were used, delivered by horse-drawn transport and along the Belaya River from Ufa from the factories of the Laptev and Cherepanov brothers. A women's educational institution, a gymnasium, was opened here, which in 1865 accepted 88 girls for training. In 1909, an extension to the building was added on the slope of Lenin Street.
