The Palace of Emperor Peter II
Detailed description
The palace is located on the University Embankment in St. Petersburg. The building is made in the style of Peter the Great Baroque. It was built in 1727-1730 for the future Emperor Peter II. In 1759-1761, after the building was transferred to the Cadet Corps, it was rebuilt according to the project of I. G. Borkhard. Due to numerous alterations, the original decoration of the building has not been preserved to this day. Currently, the halls of the palace house the St. Petersburg State University (Oriental and Philological faculties). It is currently a cultural heritage site.
