Detailed description
In 1871, at the request of the townspeople, Vice Admiral P.V. Kazakevich, commander of the port of Kronstadt and military governor, sent a letter to the secretary of the Maritime Ministry requesting permission to produce a daily noon shot in Kronstadt. This request was granted.A 60-pound smoothbore cannon from 1855, installed in the 1970s in memory of the Kronstadt Noon Cannon. This cannon was an authentic model used in the fortress, but it had never been used for shooting.
