Detailed description
The three-storey architectural structure was built in the 1890s by Samara architect Alexander Alexandrovich Shcherbachev. The landlady was a merchant's wife, Matryona Kargina. There were retail outlets on the ground floors, and Shadrina's hotel, restaurant, and rooms with furniture by merchant Matvey Chakovsky on the rest. The house was nationalized immediately after the revolution. Then, the office of the "Rubber Trust" was located in the building. In the 1930s, the building housed the publishing house of famous newspapers.
