Detailed description
Nizhny Novgorod Provincial Zemstvo Hospital was the largest medical institution in the Nizhny Novgorod region in pre-revolutionary times. The pharmacy building was built in 1830. The first patients of the medical institution were housed here. Later, the room housed an emergency room, hospital staff on duty, a pharmacy, and laboratories. The wing is a one-story building made of vertically standing logs. The exterior walls and interior trim are lined with timber and plastered with shingles. The famous doctors of the city, P.N. Mikhalkin, E.B. Yeshe, D. A. Vensky, P. P. Kashchenko, I. A. Kuntsevich and others used to receive patients in the room. During the First World War and the Civil War, there was a military hospital here. Currently, the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS and Infectious Diseases is located in the building.
