Mattheisen Town Estate
Detailed description
Not far from Georgievsky Lane, at the end of the 19th century, there was a plot of land owned by Nikolai Petrovich Matteisen. Currently, the main house of the estate of the early 19th century has been preserved.
A U-shaped apartment building was built on the Matthaisen family plot, and then five more floors were built. There were apartments for rent in the new building.
Composer Karl Antonovich Kramrodt, concertmaster of the Bolshoi Theater and teacher of the Moscow Conservatory, rented an apartment in the house facing Georgievsky Street. The violin school was also located here.
