Detailed description

From 1907 to 1910, a mansion was built for the Pel family. Two houses connected by a semicircular bay window were combined into the ensemble, the fifth floor and the attic floor were added. The architect refined the architectural Art Nouveau style through forms and decorative elements. Upon completion, the building merged into a single ensemble with the high-rise dominants of Vasilyevsky Island. The facade was decorated with mosaic inscriptions and a coat of arms by the famous mosaic artist Frolov. Mendeleev D. I. made frequent visits to the house. Since 1983, the Museum of the history of pharmacy has been located here.
