A. Tsaturov 's dacha
Detailed description
The historic building is located on the rise of Volodarsky Street. One of the most expressive dachas of pre-revolutionary Kislovodsk was located on a hillside due to the originality and picturesqueness of spatial solutions and decoration. Here you can see a comparison of different materials: wood and plaster, stone, brick and a glazed veranda. A. Tsaturov was born into a peasant family, was a worker, traded kerosene and grain, made an unsuccessful investment in oil exploration, and then won three million rubles in backgammon. With the prize money, he bought shares in an oil partnership, founded his own company and became one of the richest people in the world. At the beginning of the twentieth century, he ordered a cottage in Kislovodsk from the architect Vladimir Semenov. An Art Nouveau mansion that resembles a romantic German castle. It was built of brick and decorated with wooden towers and balconies.
