Arch of New Holland
Detailed description
This arch on the island of New Holland was built between 1779 and 1787 in an unusual classical style, combining red architectural brick and quarried granite. The creator is considered to be Jean-Baptiste-Michel Vallin-Delamotte. The height of the arch itself is twenty-three meters, and the width of the span is eight meters. It has become a real symbol of the island, connecting the Ladle inner pool with the Moika River.
