Detailed description

The sculpture to the Tula people who died in local wars and military conflicts was unveiled on February 20, 2009 in the park to the Internationalist Soldiers. The author of the monument is the sculptor-muralist Igor Leonidovich Kotenev. The monument was cast in bronze at a local machine-building plant. The five-and-a-half-meter-high sculpture represents a grieving mother with a dying warrior son lying on her lap. Near the monument, on 4 sides, there are slabs engraved with the names of local soldiers who died in military conflicts.
