Resurrection Arch

The Voskresenskaya Arch is a passage structure in the wall of the Novgorod Kremlin. It was founded in 1820. It stands on the site of the collapsed Voskresenskaya Tower. The architect of the project was A.I.Melnikov. The arch, in the form of a semicircle, has a box vault. Outside, above the arch, there is a rusticated frame, in the form of an arched opening, which highlights the arc from the wall plane, with a keystone. Inside, the arch is lined with bricks in three rows. A fighting course with teeth is installed above the arch. The Voskresenskaya Arch is considered a legacy of the architectural style of the Novgorod region.
