Detailed description
The foundation stone for the construction of the academy was laid in 1764, and the exterior and interior decoration were completed in 1788. The structure is a courtyard circle surrounded by a closed rectangle of the building. The building itself is an elongated three-story building located on the Neva River embankment. The facade of the first floor is decorated with rustication, the windows of the second and third floors are separated by rectangular columns. The central part of the house is the most prominent: Antique round columns support a high ionic portico decorated with a stucco pattern. Antique statues of Flora and Hercules are installed between the columns above the entrance group.
