Apartment house of K.A. Kolesov
Detailed description
The architectural structure was erected by the famous Russian architect Dmitry Mikhailovich Chelishchev in 1914. The style used by the master is modernism with neoclassicism, as evidenced by the laconic gray decor, narrow windows with a pronounced upward trend, and rare stucco inserts. The house was one of the first to have an electric passenger elevator. Vladimir Ilyich Lenin visited the house several times, and his friends, the Movshovich family, with whom he immigrated from Switzerland, lived there. Also, the famous Russian ballerina Ekaterina Vasilyevna Geltser lived in this house. Today, the house houses the Moscow exhibition site of Elena Vrublevskaya, founded in 1999.
