Chambers of the Khamovny yard
Detailed description
The creation of the chambers of the Khamovny Dvor dates back to the 17th century. The church of St. Nicholas served as the center of Khamovnaya Sloboda. At the same time, the Khamovny Yard was created. The buildings were industrial in nature. Tarpaulins and sail cloths were produced here, as well as household items. The buildings were white in color. The roofs were made in the form of barrels and tents. The chambers remained the only reminder of the once thriving Khamovnaya Sloboda. The chambers themselves are made of brick, the windows are protected by twisted bars. During excavations near the monastery, tools from linen factories were found. The building was renovated in 1970. The restorers managed to preserve the authentic look of the building.
