Vsevolozhskys ' Estate
Detailed description
The house is an object of immovable cultural heritage of the city. The census found that it dates back to the early 19th century, but recent research has shown that it is a much older house, probably from the first half of the 18th century. During the French occupation in 1812, the estate was used by General Jean-Dominique Compan as a residence. One of the walls of the house was replaced with brick, but the Ionic order columns, interior doors, tiled stoves and fireplaces were preserved from the interior. The Vsevolozhskys' House is the only known chopped wooden palace-type house dating back to the first decades of the 18th century. It was damaged by fire in the mid-90s. This monument of cultural heritage of Russia could have become a monument of federal significance, but before its appointment it was placed under state protection. As part of the reconstruction of the Krasnaya Roza factory, it was decided to transform the house for office needs.
