Chief Officer's guardhouse

The guardhouse of the Peter and Paul Fortress was built in the neoclassical architectural style. It was built in 1743, and the second floor was added in 1906-1907. The room was used to accommodate officers who served in the missions of foreign armies. Today, the museum of the St. Petersburg garrison is located here, where you can learn about the history of the city's garrison, about military equipment and weapons used throughout its history. The exterior of the building is decorated with a portal with columns and sculptural compositions. The chief officer's guardhouse is one of the symbols of the history of St. Petersburg and an interesting place to visit.
