Detailed description

In 1882, the City Duma decided to build buildings for the police department and the fire department. The architect V.G. Shalamov was engaged in the design. The building complex was divided into three courtyards. A building with a fire station was located along Bolshoy Prospekt. There was a police building on the corner street. The fire watchtower has become the high-rise dominant of the local area. Wooden gates were installed between the offices, and a service building was built in the back of the building, which was intended for all employees. There were stables in the same place. At the beginning of the twentieth century, the building was expanded with an additional second floor. In 1995, a memorial sculpture to firefighters was installed in front of the building. The building today is presented in a brick style. The symmetrical facade is crowned with a risalite. The fire tower is decorated with architraves and sandricks.
