Residential building of the Red Army
Detailed description
In 1937, the first building of the residential complex for the V.V. Kuibyshev Military Engineering Academy was built according to the project of Ilya Alexandrovich Golosov. The main facade of the building overlooks Pokrovsky and Yauzsky Boulevards, representing a cut-off corner. Two allegorical sculptures by Alexei Evgenievich Zelensky were installed on both sides of the arched portal leading to the courtyard. The house is still used as a residential complex and is under state protection as an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. The second building was completed only in 1941.
