Detailed description

The monument is located at the base of the Pi Kun Bridge. Built in 1913 during the reign of King Rama VI. The Pig Memorial is the only monument associated with the royal family, built in the shape of an animal, marking the year of the Chinese zodiac. Designed by Prince Narisara Nuwattivong, the pig's body is made of black oxide steel and stands on a raised multi-layered stone base.
