Musin-Pushkin House
Detailed description
The house belonged to a major figure of the Russian Enlightenment, A. I. Musin-Pushkin. Since 1835, educational institutions have been located in the building. The house itself was built in 1790-1800, had three floors, an outbuilding, a garden and a pond, and a small outbuilding housing the house church. And in 1812, the house survived a fire, during which the Musin-Pushkin library burned down. In 1835, the Moscow authorities acquired the house, where they placed the gymnasium, and then the decorative elements and layout were changed. Now the University of Civil Engineering is located here.
